You never really learn to appreciate the beauty of your homeland until you lived abroad for a while. I've been living in Montana for 10+ years now, and while this state has some gorgeous scenery of its own, I still yearn for the lush, exhuberant vegetation and exotic fauna I grew up with in Cali. Every time I go home, my heart skips a beat when I see the endless vivid green sugarcane fields from the airplane window. My feet and hips start moving on their own when a hot Salsa tune starts playing, it's addictive!! The balmy weather is always a plus too, especially during the evenings when the cool breezes from the Andes come down, caressing the city into a placid lull. I love waking up to the beautiful songs of the tropical birds. Indeed, the city of Santiago de Cali is a magical place!!!
